Black-bellied Plover

MNWR Wildlife Drive - 23 September, 2007

Ithaca, NY off Stevenson Rd. - 10 September, 2007

This hatch year bird was seen with about 30 Killdear in a plowed up experimental plot off of Stevenson Rd. east of Ithaca.

Myers Point - 26 May, 2007

This individual remained for a while, but then left with a passing group of Ruddy Turnstones.

Seen here with a Dunlin.

Here is a second bird from that same morning.

Many of the migrants seen along with this bird would take a bath and get a drink before foraging
for food and then continuing northward. Here, the Black-bellied Plover is taking a drink.
